Why Massage?

Our bodies naturally restore fascia, muscles, and functioning systems toward balance and health until we experience trauma or stress that blocks this process. Causes of trauma or stress can be physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual, usually with a combination of all four of these areas.

Physical trauma is frequently caused by motor vehicle accidents. Injuries range from whiplash to broken bones, minor scratches to life threatening and life changing conditions.

The top four emotional/mental stressors in today's society are: moving to a new city or location; an ending to a relationship; loss of a loved one; loss of a job. With emotional/mental stress the body tends to hold the tension in certain areas such as the shoulders or the back. This creates congestion or lack of circulation which can cause pain and lead to loss of normal function. Most of us experience many traumas and stress in our lives. This is the time to take extra care of you. Massage is proven to help speed healing, reduce pain, improve function, and allow you to relax - to let go of the stress you carry on a daily basis. Massage also helps strengthen your immune system, stimulate and improve respiration, circulation and digestion, relieve constipation, and relieve insomnia or sleep problems.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the hands and feet which correspond to all the glands, organs and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers on these reflex areas. Benefits of foot and hand Reflexology include relief from stress and tension, improved blood supply, promotion of unblocking nerve impulses, and helping nature achieve balance or homeostasis.

Give yourself the gift of good health by making regular appointments with Catherine for Massage or Reflexology.
